Cisco’s strategic approach in China is focused on driving innovation, partnerships, and leadership development. The company’s commitment in China has been captured in a series of memoranda of understanding with various government ministries, including the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Commerce (MofCOM), the Sichuan Provincial Government, and the Shenzhen Municipal Government.
In FY09, Cisco established a China-based team to drive its China Strategy, which is focused on developing long-term market opportunities and internal capabilities for sustainable growth and innovation. At the core of the company’s China strategy is the Cultivated Innovation model launched in April 2009. This model is focused on three growth opportunities aligned with China’s country priorities, including Smart+Connected Communities, Next-Generation Internet, and Small and Medium Businesses.
We have a strong culture in nurturing next generation leaders through collaborative efforts with schools and universities. With this in mind, Cisco China is now launching an internship program for university students.
