Business Manager
I joined Colgate in 2004 as a sales trainee, and a wonderful training rotation program was waiting for me already: In the first 9 months, I had opportunities to experience sales as a representative, both in modern trade and tradition trade, to understand the market and build the basic sense of field sales fundamental job.
Then I transferred to Marketing Dept, joining high-end team. Being very lucky, I took part in several big projects such as "Max Fresh Toothpaste Launching", "Oral Health Month Activity", etc. After 6 months' rotation in MKT, I finished my rotation program and came back to Shanghai, being a real field sales.
Thanks a lot to the training program that make me deeply understand the company, the work process and the rationale. I was promoted as a business manager at the end of 2006, handling one of national key accounts. Nowadays I still benefit a lot from the rotation during my daily work.
Besides the rotation specific for trainee, Colgate also provides many training courses standing on different functions: Sales, Finance, MKT, Supply Chain, etc. which would strengthen the capabilities of communicating, strategy thinking and so on to make me be more professional.

Customer Manager
I entered the Colgate family two years ago as a CD trainee and now work as a Customer Manager in the South DT. They say that time flies when you're having a good time, and I can't agree more--particularly because I find myself learning and experiencing new things every day both in the office and in the field, which makes work exciting and enjoyable.
I have found that one of the best parts of this company is that you are truly part of a team. The concept of "Caring" is one of the three core values of Colgate, and I have genuinely experienced this in my time here.
During my rotation period, I had the support of many different players which not only made me feel like I was really cared for, but that the company truly wanted to invest in me.
My Immediate Manager provided me with basic day-to-day supervision and on-the-job training. I learned many of my technical skills from him, and enjoyed building a close relationship with him as he shared many of his relevant past work experiences with me.
Every trainee is also assigned a Mentor, which I find to be one of the best parts of Colgate. My Mentor is a experienced professional in the sales field, and with her I was able to openly share many of my thoughts and concerns. With time, we have built a great lasting relationship, and I am glad that I can discuss many of my career goals and plans with her.
The HR Department is like the glue that holds the players together. During my rotation period, HR did a great job with coordinating and planning countless events and programs, and I am constantly impressed with how structured Colgate is.
Choosing to be a part of Colgate as a fresh college graduate is a wise decisions I have made, and it is great knowing that so many partnered with me during this process. |

Senior Brand Manager

Through various on-the-job training and exposure to different challenges, I am gradually equipped with systematic marketing knowledge. Based on my competency level, Colgate also provided me with adequate in-house training courses every year to help me to develop specific business skills. Both in-house and on-the-job training can benefit me professionally and personally. They are very helpful for me to develop my competency and realize my potential, so that I can improve continuously and grow professionally. 2006 Marketing Trainee
My first Rotation in IDT field was a very difficult time for me at beginning. With sweat wetted shirt, with pink-burned face, with rough-skin hands, with painful legs, and with tears engulfed in my eyes, I cannot remember a point in my life when I am suffering all this hardness.
I had always known that sales experience is an integral part of being a good marketer, but I just did not know how to go about it.
It was my immediate manager Leon, who field coached me under burning sun, and answered all of my specific questions about ordering, delivery and customer negotiation skills. He went on to warn me about the likelihood of being rejected at first by buyers or shop owners, advising me not to get discourage if that happened. He said my sense of business and attitude toward work is good and worthy appreciation.
It was my mentor Maggie, who sent sms and chatted with me through internet. She told me how to renting house, how to value the field rotation from marketing view and how to keep balance between working and life. I profoundly touched by her words. Believe me, that which comes from heart goes to the heart.
Last but not the least, was HRs, who set the Colgate Plus training and sharing section after three months of rotation. Seven of 07 trainees got together again. We celebrated when someone was married, supported when someone was upset, shared when someone was inspired, laughed when someone was amused. The friendship between has been part of our life.
Finally, I got very excited and released, understanding how the whole IDT process worked. And I acted on these directions and encouragements. I built up a solid willing to bear all the pains. Moreover, to broaden my horizon of thinking in Colgate IDT, I also started a wide searching about FMCG market and practice data analysis tools which could improve the efficiency. This experience fully equipped me with all that required in my further rotation in NCM W/S team and Marketing.
Day after day, with kind words and big smile, my boss, my mentor and HRs are always being there by side to support me. They started a chain of events that reaches all the way to me right now. There is nothing better for me than to tell myself that it is lucky to be a member of Colgate. I can feel not only their time and attention, but also their hearts and soul. |

HR Generalist, South China
I feel really lucky that I made the right choice to join Colgate 4 years ago when I graduated from Wuhan University. During the 4 years, I learned a lot from Colgate¡¯s systematic and refined HR process and from my professional colleagues who are always kind to provide help. I have gained expertise in various aspects and developed my leadership through my assignments as a specialist in some particular HR functions and as a generalist supporting business in different areas; the specialist experience equipped me with solid HR expertise while the generalist exposure provided me valuable insight and experience on how to support the business. Besides, I also gained a lot through various projects involvement such as campus recruitment, employer branding, labor contract law strategy, people development and etc.

2007 Finance Trainee
I joined Colgate this year as a management trainee in the Finance department. Over the past months, I have grown rapidly with the help of the trainee program including orientation, team building, and on-job coaching. As a fresh graduate, it is so fortunate that I get the chance to work in the three core teams of Finance through the job rotation----Costing, General Ledger, Budget & Planning within two years time, which will greatly help to enrich myself. Now I am in my first rotation----Costing, which located in Huangpu, Guangzhou. Not only my manager in different areas, but also other colleagues in the costing team have given me lots of supports for my growth. Therefore, I adapt well in a short time. What inspires me most is their respect on my thoughts and my ideas even I am a fresh. They are willing to share and listen to you, and always encourage continues improvement on the jobs. Moreover, functional rotation, training, project assignments have also been planned to strengthen both my functional and leadership competencies. Besides the previous arrangements, every trainee will have a mentor, who helps to develop my career.
