The IBM China Research Laboratory
The IBM China Research Laboratory (CRL) was established in September 1995 and is one of the eight worldwide IBM Research laboratories. Located in Zhongguancun Software Park at Shangdi District, in the northwest of Beijing, CRL has been growing steadily and currently employs over 200 research staff members who are holding Ph.D and master’s degree, and join IBM from leading universities in China.
The Research at CRL ranges from infrastructure and middleware to services and solutions, which enables cross-pollination of ideas from a broad range of disciplines. The key themes include future systems, network technologies, high performance computing, information management, and next generation services. Based on industry insight and advanced technical skills, we also tackle business complexity through the innovative analytics and optimization technologies and asset management. It helps the above five Research Themes solve real industry applications of massive data computation and service operations.
The specific industry-oriented Innovation Centers at CRL are platforms for capitalizing a number of research assets and magnify the value for IBM. It helps researchers validate research technologies, trigger collaboration with IBM Business Units, and build industry insight as well.
