| 思科系统(中国)研发中心于 2005 年 1 月成立于中国上海。至 2006 年五月底,在短短一年多的时间里,已经聚集了近 200 名高级软件工程师。 2005 年 8 月 2 日 ,思科系统(中国)研发中心正式注册为思科系统(中国)研发有限公司,注册地址为上海市宜山路 900 号科技大楼 C 栋 13 - 16 层。公司综合涵盖了思科公司所有的产品和技术系列,成为思科在亚太地区、继印度的第二个研发中心。思科系统(中国)研发有限公司的成立,系思科公司首席执行官约翰- 钱伯斯 先生 2004 年 9 月来华访问时宣布。公司的经营范围包括:数据通信、电子产品、软件和网络技术及产品的研究、开发;自行研发成果的转让及许可,并提供相关的技术支持、技术咨询服务。

We live in the time of transformation of telecom networks. Two major trends in Service Provider space are growth of mobile wireless (one of the fastest growing sectors) and migration from circuit architectures to IP-based packet systems, which enable Service Providers to converge and deliver their new data services. That is exactly the mission of Mobility, Signalling and Control Business Unit (MSCBU).
MSCBU is focused on state-of-the-art solutions for Service Providers providing control signaling technologies, enabling quad play, and migration of fixed (circuit) and mobile networks to next generation IP (packet) networks.
The solutions and products in MSCBU fall in several categories: call control, SIP session control and products focused specifically on mobile space. The multi-protocol call control products include the Cisco PGW 2200 Signaling Gateway and Cisco BTS 10200 softswicthes. The session control products include a portfolio of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) components, rebranded as the Cisco Call Session Control Platform (CSCP). The CSCP consists of the Cisco Service Engine, Cisco Edge Proxy and the Cisco Name Resolution Server (NRS).Products that are focused on specific needs of Mobile Operators include IP RAN for next generation mobile networks, and IP Transfer Point (ITP) for the migration of SS7 and SMS traffic off of overburdened circuit switch networks. Within the CMX framework, Cisco provides GGSN and PDSN Packet Gateways and Content Services Gateways for advanced data services, management and control.
MSCBU's call and session control platform lie at the heart of the Cisco Service Exchange Solution for IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), which delivers a broad range of services capabilities based on the IMS standards that are emerging from the wireless, wireline, and cable industries.

Cisco Cable Engineering Group provides worldwide service providers with intelligent broadband edge solutions from cable modem termination systems (CMTSs) such as the Cisco uBR10012 and uBR7246VXR Universal Broadband Routers. The high end Cisco uBR10012 router uses advanced network processors for layer 3 and DOCSIS processing and the mid range Cisco uBR7246VXR router runs advanced Cisco IOS routing software on general purpose high speed MIPS processors.
Layer 3 DOCSIS and PacketCable-qualified Cisco uBR CMTS routers are the only Intelligent Broadband Edge products on the market today that offer an extensive feature set including voice support for cable systems, multicast, IPv6, fault tolerance and advanced QoS and spectrum management to support triple play (high speed data, voice, video), along with high processing performance to improve overall bandwidth availability and system reliability.
